Shiitake Mushroom
What does it do?
Shiitake Mushrooms contain beta-glucans, which act as humectant moisturizers to plump and hydrate the skin, along with moisture-barrier reinforcing ceramides. They also contain antioxidants such as Ergothioneine, which promotes cell renewal and Lentinan, which is known to calm the skin and reduce redness. These mushrooms also contain vitamins D and B, which help soothe and soften skin, whilst Kojic Acid helps to brighten the skin, fade hyperpigmentation and improve skin glow.
Where does it originate from?
Native to East Asia, the Shiitake Mushroom was first cultivated in China and is the oldest known cultivated mushroom.
